
A symposium dedicated to prominent Diasporan-Armenian writer Hagop Oshagan, took place on 28th April 2011 at 10:30am, at the auditorium of the Faculty of Philology of the Yerevan State University.
The event was jointly organized by Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Association, Yerevan chapter and the Yerevan State University.
The symposium was aimed to fully evaluate the literary and educational works of Hagop Oshagan and its literary legacy, using modern standards of evaluation.
A letter by Armen Ashotyan, the RA Minister of Education and Science was read at the symposium.
Lilit Galstyan, MP and President of the Hamazkayin Foundation, gave the opening speech.
The symposium was also addressed by Artsrun Avagyan, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology at the Yerevan State University, as well as Levon Ananyan, the President of the Writer’s Union of Armenia.
Around 80 scientists participated in the symposium. Among them were Marc Nshanian (USA) Boghos Snabian (Lebanon,) Krikor Beledian (France,) and Rubina Piroomian (USA).
