The Literary-Educative Committee of Hamazkayin Kuwait Separate Chapter organized a literary evening dedicated to the 110th death anniversary of the great western Armenian poet, singer of love and nature, Misak Medsarents. The event sponsored by Very Rev Masis Zoboyan, took place on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the Saint Vartanants Church.
The cultural event was broadcast live on Aleppo's Radio Dream. Committee Chair, Tina Taslakian delivered the opening speech, after which Mayda Movsesian, Angela Sarkissian and Narine Arapatlyan recited the poems of Medsarents Life Song, Requiem, Bagpipe Song, and Come up, and Severed Hearts. Hagop Tadevosyan and Lila Karapetian performed the songs Serenade and Days like Dream. The audience really enjoyed their beautiful performances. Garo Karapetian spoke about Misak Medsarents, focusing on the last period of his life and illnesse. His speech made the audience feel the pain of the poet’s early death in the mysterious atmosphere of the hall.
Perch Shahbazian, accompanied by pianist Haykuhi Bazian, perfectly presented the poet’s character. Christ Seropian, recited some pieces from Misak Medsarents.
The key-speaker George Arapatlyan, in a unique and interesting way talked about the ″sick and genius boy″, presented his life and poetry, touching upon the precious literary heritage that he left in the Armenian literature, his inimitable love and mercy towards the humanity, expressed in the language of nature.
Holy Father’s speech ended the event. He spoke about the poet’s valuable literary heritage and highly appreciated the organizers and the performers of the event.
The audience left the hall deeply impressed and in anticipation of similar inspiring events.
