On the occasion of the publication of a collection of papers presented at a scholarly conference dedicated to the author Hakob Karapents, a celebration was held on March 31, 2022, on the initiative of Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society and the Yerevan State University Faculty of Philology. The launch was held at the Philology Faculty Hall.
At the opening of the celebration, Ruzan Arakelyan, director of the Hamazkayin Yerevan Office, said Karapents was thoroughly represented in the book.
“With this book we want to say and do say that, whatever happens, whatever government may come and go, we have one criterion: alongside the sword, we must wield the pen in our struggle. I am grateful to all the rapporteurs who comprehensively presented a writer whose lived life truly serves as an example to all of us. Hakob Karapents is one of those people who wrote the way he lived. It’s very important when a person’s lived life and writing are in harmony; in such a case, we can believe the person, the writer, because when they are in contention, we cannot have faith in what we read,” she argued.
