
Hamazkayin Forum 2015 has entered the second half of its journey. and what a journey it is! The bonds are strong and it is becomes apparent by the minute that separation will not be easy. The ninth day of the Forum is an emotional day; it is a day of reflection. The bus made a pit stop at a flower shop, where bouquets of flowers were bought for the participants and then…’Dzidzernagapert’, the Genocide memorial monument that sits proud and tall, with the everlasting flame reminding us once again that we are surviving nation.Listening to ‘Sourperou achker’ (the eyes of saints) and other songs in silent was touching. Not even a whisper for many many minutes…
Following, was a guided tour of the Genocide museum, where participants learned about our painful journey with many teary eyes… The turn had come for ‘Yeraplour’, where the soldiers, our fine brothers were buried, those who gave their lives in Artsakh and long our borders as recently as last year and of course, the Lisbon five... Albert took us through and the revolutionary songs were heard high…very very emotional yet pride and the will and determination to continue the fight was apparent in everyone’s eyes. Following Lunch at Safran, Harout, Anna and Lori, along with one of the directors of the Forum Tamar connected via Skype with Beirut where an event was in progress about the Hamazkayin Forum; everyone shared their thoughts and feelings and of course, words of thanks to the organizers and those who initiated the Forum and kept it live all 21 years…
