With the cooperation of the Central Committee of Hamazkayin and Yerevan State University, a conference dedicated to Levon Shant took place November 27, 2008, at Yerevan State University. On the 80th anniversary of its founding, the Central Committee of Hamazkayin has organized a series of events and conferences, one of which is the conference dedicated to Levon Shant. The conference aimed to evaluate the multi-talented Levon Shant, and introduce to the public in Armenia his productive literary, cultural, and educational activities. The conference lasted one day, during which 15 speakers addressed speeches. Three of them (Krikor Shahinian, Haroutioun Kurkjian, and Dikran Jinbashian) came from the diaspora.
