An artistic exhibition dedicated to cultural diversity and its potential, titled “Diversity & Perspective,” took place at the Gunjian Centre on June 5, 6, and 7, 2025, at the initiative of the Fine Arts Committee of the Hamazkayin Quebec “Sanahin” Chapter.
Diversity is the beauty created by our differences, and perspective is the unique angle from which each of us views the world. Both help us to understand better, feel deeper, and create richer stories.
The event began with a welcoming speech on behalf of the Hamazkayin Quebec “Sanahin” Chapter Executive Board, after which the works of five talented Armenian artists were displayed, accompanied by commentary and observations.
The artists—Silva Khacherian, Nushig Kadian, Silvie Hasesian, Garine Khacherian, and Hasmik Sedragian—who originate from different countries and are today settled in Canada, expressed their cultural identity and artistic perception of diversity through their unique works. The exhibited creations not only impressed the visitors but also touched upon profound themes of identity, memory, mutual understanding, and harmony, as well as the image of Armenian women, strengthening cultural ties and their richness.
The exhibition served as a platform where the paths of five Armenian artists crossed. Each had brought with them experience born of a different culture, and today all were united in one creative space, on Canadian soil. This artistic meeting united their diverse heritages, presenting inspiring, tastefully selected works. It reflected the layered richness of experiences and the direct connection between art and culture.
The exhibition created an environment where colors, stories, memory, and identity merged, becoming a creative narrative, a living culture, and an expression of the national spirit.
