On 3 June, 2019, in Yerevan State University’s central auditorium, at the initiative of Hamazkayin, the Hakob Karapents scholarship was granted by Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogic Universityto five outstanding students from the school.
The scholarship was created in the year 2000, based on Karapents’s will.
It should be noted that this event was partially in recognition of YSU’s 100th anniversary. During the ceremony, certificates were presented to the winners of the all-Armenia school Olympiad celebrating the centennial of YSU.
The scholarships were presented to the students by Ruzan Arakelyan, director of Hamazkayin's Yerevan office. She congratulated the winners, gave them her best wishes, and expressed her hope that they will use their educational opportunities to make Armenia proud, and to dream like Karapents did.
