On July 27, 2024, in Gyumri, at the Kumayri Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve Hall, the volume Tghte Yerkink (Paper sky) by Ara Nakhshkarian was launched. Book lovers from the city, the republic, and the four corners of the world were in attendance. Among those in attendance were members of the Central Executive Board of Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society, including the chairperson, Zakar Keshishian.
A performance by the Gyumri Photon School’s “Singing Photons” heralded the beginning of the program. They were conducted by Anahit Galstyan. After a brief intervention by Mr. Nakhshkarian, the child prodigy Narek Bernetsian read Mr. Nakhshkarian’s poem “Gyumri yekek” (Come to Gyumri). Karine Martirosian, an associate professor of philology, reviewed the book. Two students of the Gyumri Academy of Art, Nona Markosian and Mariam Aslanian, read additional poems from the book.
At the conclusion of the program, the former principal of the Hamazkayin Djemaran in Lebanon, Dikran Djinbashian, spoke.
As a surprise, Anush Babikian performed the premiere of one of Mr. Nakhshkarian’s poems as a song. The author had adapted the poem.
As director of the Hamazkayin Gyumri Office, Mr. Nakhshkarian thanked everyone for their participation. He gave everyone present a signed copy of his book.
