
To celebrate the birthday of the great author Hovhannes Tumanian and Book Giving Day, Ruzan Arakelyan, director of the Yerevan Office of the Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society, and Knarik Abrahamyan, holder of the Vache Partizuni Chair in New and Modern Armenian Literature and its Teaching Methods at the State Pedagogical University of Armenia, visited the Hagop Paronyan School No. 12 in Hrazdan.
They donated books published by Hamazkayin and the “Spiurk” Scholarly Research Center of the university to the school library and its students.
Students from the school’s sixth grade, led by their teacher Elmira Mikayelyan, performed an artistic program, presenting a beautiful selection of Tumanian’s works.
Remarks were delivered by Karen Hunanyan, head of the Education, Culture, and Sports Department of the Kotayk regional administration; Ms. Arakelyan; Prof. Abrahamyan; Aram Khachatryan, the school principal; and the school’s teachers.
Since the 44-Day war in Artsakh, the class has honored fallen freedom fighter Tatul Hakobyan by bearing his name. His mother and relatives were present at the event.
Mr. Khachatryan expressed his gratitude to the Hamazkayin Yerevan Office and voiced his hope that this cooperation would continue in the future.
