The conductor of the concert, the popular and honored American Armenian musician Gregory Pitechian delivered his speech saying: "In the history of Armenian music we have had different musical dynasties which gave generations of musicians and developed the Armenian music both in the Diaspora and Armenia. One of those dynasties has been the Satyans’ family. Today, the honorable President of the Composers’ Union of Armenia, Professor Aram Satyan is the honored guest of the concert."
The diverse program of the concert included Sophia Mikayelyan’s, Anahit Kostanyan’s, Melik Mavisakalyan’s, Konstantin Petrossian’s, Edward Sadoyan’s and others’ musical creations. Nune Garabedian’s (soprano), Sarkis Garabedian’s (violin) and Nune Hagopian’s (piano) performances were warmly welcomed.
The audience greeted the president of the Composers’ Union of Armenia Aram Satyan with ovations. In his speech, the guest thanked and spoke about the concerts held in the Diaspora as well as about the high-class performance of the musicians.
He said, "Along with Armenian vocal art, we should certainly love classical music. The Composers’ Union could organize such concerts in different cities of Diaspora due to the cooperation with the well-known composer Konstantin Petrossian."
Aram Satyan also expressed his satisfaction and gratitude to Reverend Father Mesrob Lakissian of New York St. Illuminator Church and the National Educational and Cultural Society for organizing the beautiful musical evening. The concert ended with Aram Satyan’s song "Ave Maria", which was performed by the famous singer, winner of international competitions Narine Ochakhian. The author of the music accompanied the singer.
