On the first anniversary of the ethnic cleansing of Artsakh, the photographs of Davit Ghahramanyan were exhibited in the Russell Senate Office Building Rotunda in Washington, DC. The photographs depict the 44-Day War, the siege of Artsakh, and the deportation of its native population. The exhibit titled “Real-Time Genocide: Artsakh” was open from September 19 to 27, 2024.
The exhibit was made possible through the efforts of Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, a Democrat from Rhode Island.
At the opening on September 19, Hamazkayin Artsakh Office Director Hermine Avakyan presented the album, Artsakh: Unfinished War, providing information about the siege and the depopulation of the land. “What happened was not a war but a genocide. I hope that the voice of justice can reach its target.”
