The second day of the gathering of Armenian students in Vienna started in an enthusiastic atmosphere.
Serouj Hovsepian spoke about Armenian cinema. He showed clips from films like Namus, A Piece of Sky, and The Color of Pomegranates, and discussed their unique characteristics.
Afterward, the group had lunch at the Vienna City Hall restaurant, Rathauskeller, known for its elegance and size; it can host up to 7,000 guests. They enjoyed Vienna’s renowned schnitzel before heading to the monument dedicated to Franz Werfel, author of the classic The Forty Days of Musa Dagh (1933). There, they met Razmik Tamrazian, the person who conceived the idea for the memorial and pursued official authorization for its installation. He shared the history of the monument’s placement.
The group then had time for shopping and sightseeing. From the carousel in Vienna’s amusement park, they were able to see all of Vienna from above.
The day concluded with a dinner at the Greek restaurant Carls Platz, where a warm, traditional Armenian atmosphere filled the evening and the joyful gathering continued late into the night.
