The Yerevan Office of the Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society on November 29, 2024, held an event at the Avedik Isahakyan House-Museum to celebrate the sixtieth birthday or poet Khachik Manukyan.
Tavush primate Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan opened the event with a blessing.
The Hamazkayin Yerevan Office manager Ruzan Arakelyan made opening remarks.
Academics Davit Gasparyan, Armen Avanesyan, and Mihran Hovhannisyan spoke about the author’s literary output.
Central Executive Board member Artashes Shahbazyan conveyed the good wishes of the board.
The mixing of music and poetry made the evening beautiful. Popular singers Mavr Mkrtchian, Andranik Malkhasyan, pianist Margarit Sargisyan performed whereas Gayane Samuelian and Hripsime Sargsyan recited poetry.
Khachik Manukyan spoke about the homeland, the fate of the nation, and a vision for the future. He tone ranged from that of a poet living the pain of the nation to that of a father who has lost a son, giving advice.
The evening was emotional and everyone took home a part of Manukyan’s cleansing and distinctive poesy.
