The Hamazkayin Mary Babigian Educational Foundation was established by the Mary Filhannesian Babigian family in memory of their mother and grandmother and in honor of her years of service and legacy as a teacher of Armenian language and culture. The purpose of the foundation is to continue the work of Mary Babigian, preserving Armenian language and developing Armenian culture.
The Hamazkayin Mary Babigian Educational Foundation has made the following awards, consistent with its goals, in 2023:
- For the Armenian teacher training program of the Hamazkayin Central Executive Board, $1,000.
- For the Hamazkayin Armenian Studies Institution in Aleppo, $1,000.
- For the preparation of textbooks by the Hamazkayin Central Executive Board Publications Body, $1,000.
- For the support of five outstanding students at the Damascus Armenian school who need financial aid, $1,000.
We should add that $500 will be awarded to the Damascus Armenian school student with the highest grade-point average in Armenian.
