The Parsegh Ganachian Conservatory held a concert on June 21, 2025, at the Near East Divinity School hall. The event was sponsored by the Armenian Evangelical Brotherhood Church of Beirut’s Rev. Raffi Messerlian and presided over by Mr. and Mrs. John Garabedian.
The event was organized by the trustees and administration of the Hamazkayin Schools of Art. Speaking on behalf of the trustees, Nayira Demirjian said, “We are gathered to appreciate the performances of our young conservatory cohorts and the work of their teachers.” Thanks to art and culture, she added, a nation becomes special and its children are educated in national values. The trustee explained that the mission of the conservatory is to cultivate seeds of art and culture through individual instruction as well as group performances.
The first part of the program included the Meghedi string quartet, which performed Saint Gregory of Nareg’s “Dagh,” for two violins, Vivaldi’s “Concerto” for four violins and piano, and Gomidas-Aslamazian’s “Yerginke Ambel A,” “Al Aylughs,” and “Hoy Nazan,” Bach’s “Rondeau, Minuet, and Badinerie” (Gasia Levonian on flute), Handel’s “Arrival of the Queen of Sheba,” Brahms’ “Hungarian Dance No. 5,” and Ashot Jenderejian’s “Finnish Polka.” The quartet was led by Armen Jenderejian.
