
During the month dedicated to the Armenian people's demands, a theatrical adaptation of the heroic novel Zartonk (Awakening), brought to the stage by Hamazkayin Greece, served as a call to struggle. The novel has an evocative intensity and embodies sublime ideas and the spirit of the Armenian liberation struggle.
On April 13, 2025, the Hamazkayin A. Kazanjian Theater Group, directed by Hagop Barsamian, with the participation of both veteran and young talents, transformed Zartonk into an invitation to awakening, immersing all attendees in the timeless messages of the Armenian mountains and the soil irrigated by Armenian blood.
The monumental novel by Malkhas, which wove the song of the Armenian liberation struggle, was dramatized by Garabed Kalfayan and ably translated into Greek by Sergo Aghabadian. On the stage of the Izola Theatre Hall in Kallithea, it permeated everyone's hearts with bold echoes and reminded them that the current situation of the Armenian people needs to be reenvisioned through the manifestation of courageous deeds and an unwavering will to achieve justice.
