The Hamazkayin Aleppo “N. Aghbalian” Chapter has found that its troubadour concerts are very popular with audiences. On April 15, 2023, the troubadour ensemble once again took the stage, joined by the “Sartarabad” Dance Ensemble (artistic director Dr. Raffi Abejian; dance instructor Sarin Boyajian).
Present were Hagop Der Khatchadurian, chair of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Bureau; Giro Manoyan, head of the ARF Armenian Cause Office; Hagop Pakradouni, chair of the ARF Central Committee of Lebanon and member of the Lebanese parliament; representatives of ARF bodies in Armenia, Artsakh, and the Middle East; Davit Tadosyan, advisor at the Consulate General of Armenia; Col. Arkadi Donoyan, head of Armenia's humanitarian mission to Syria; members of the Syrian parliament, Armenian elected officials in Aleppo, representatives of organizations, and a large number of community members.
Samig Dikranian and Sevan Azarigian-Barmaksezian spoke in Arabic and Armenian on the importance of Armenian culture and art in the development of the taste of the younger generation and in maintaining their Armenian identity. They noted that Hamazkayin is active in gathering young people and exposing them to our national values.
The troubadour ensemble then began its performance.
Soloists, the band, and the dancers were well coordinated as they brought the Armenian “ashugh” tradition to life in the “K. Yesayan” Hall. The works of Ashugh Jivani, Sayat Nova, and other troubadours warmed the hearts of the audience.
The 90-minute program concluded with a performance of the farce “Aghchi Horom.”
