On June 1, 2025, the 700-seat Akropolis Theater hall seemed small in front of the massive crowd. Attendees included the dancers’ parents and relatives, as well as all compatriots who consistently encourage Hamazkayin’s culture-building activities and its presentation of Armenian art. His Holiness Catholicos Aram I graced the hall with his presence. Also present was the prelate of the Armenians of Greece, a procession of clergy, members of the Prelacy Council and the ARF Central Committee for Greece, as well as the regional and local executive boards of the Armenian Relief Society and Homenetmen, and a counselor from the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia.
The opening remarks, in both Armenian and Greek, were delivered by Hamazkayin members Anastasia Kuyumjian and Anto Shahbazian. They first welcomed the Catholicos and then explained the nature of the performance. Marie Dangurian, on behalf of the Hamazkayin Regional Executive Board, took to the stage and stated, “It is a special honor for us to have the presence of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia, who bestows spiritual shine and blessing upon this event.”
