The Hamazkayin Armenian Studies Program in Aleppo on July 8, 2024, hosted a lecture about the origins of Armenian theater by Vatche Adrouni, the director, who was visiting from Lebanon.
The director of the program, its faculty and students, and theater lovers from the community were in attendance.
Chairperson Houri Eblighatian-Maghakian introduced the speaker.
Adrouni recounted the history of theater from prehistory on. He paused at length on the structure of Greek theater, and traced the origins of Armenian theater to the time of Tigran the Great and Artavazd.
The program is grateful to Mr. Adrouni who taught participants a great deal.
