Organized by the Hamazkayin Central Executive Board, a professional development course for Armenian diaspora dance instructors concluded in Yerevan. Five young dance instructors from various Hamazkayin chapters learned new skills in traditional Armenian dance. The goal is for them to pass on this knowledge to young Armenians in their respective communities.
The course was led by Suren Khatchatryan, a lecturer at the Department of Dance Pedagogy at the Armenian State Pedagogical University and the artistic director of the "Hay Astgher" dance ensemble.
On August 22, 2025, a meeting was held at the Hamazkayin Yerevan Office with the young participants, during which they received their certificates.
Zakar Keshishian, chairperson of the Hamazkayin Central Executive Board, was present at the meeting. He conveyed the Central Executive Board's congratulations and stressed the importance of such initiatives in preserving the identity of young diaspora Armenians and transmitting a sense of national consciousness through art. He stated that national dance is not only a part of culture but also history, national heritage, and a guarantee of preserving Armenian identity.
Ruzan Arakelyan, director of the Hamazkayin Yerevan Office, also congratulated the young instructors, emphasizing not only the significance of the program but also the need for its continuity.
Mr. Khatchatryan thanked Hamazkayin and expressed hope that the cooperation would continue in the future.
