In April of this year, the Hamazkayin "Nairi" Union initiated the organization of a magnificent concert by the Union’s ensembles of all age groups, the AGBU "Tamzara" Armenian Folk Dance Group and "Azad Gharibian" Dance Group invited from Melbourne. This concert program was conceived and implemented by "Nairi" Dance Ensemble. Undoubtedly, this project could hardly be implemented without "Nairi" Union’s Executive Board's active support and patronage.
The concert took place on April 30, 2016, at the luxurious Hall of Chatswood District Municipality. In the packed concert hall, the audience was waiting impatiently for the unique concert to start. After each dance, the spectators couldn’t help expressing their enthusiasm and joy with warm applauses. The Armenian dances and melodies followed each other surpassing one another in their perfectness and greatness. It seemed as if the people in the hall were mentally taken to the land of Armenia and the spirits of Armenian heroes were gliding in the air.
The Armenian dances, as one of the ancient types of the Armenian art, had united the Armenian young people living so far away from Homeland. They live far but in their hearts they stay so close to it. With their beautiful dancing and beautiful costumes, they once again proved that they are faithfully connected to their national culture, and they are the carriers of that culture on those shores.
Thanks to all people who initiated, organized, implemented and sponsored this project. We hope that the cooperation of these dance ensembles will be continuous in the future.
