Aztag—The Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society and Yerevan State University have been carrying out joint educational and scholarly activities for years. One of the important activities is collaboration of the university’s Diaspora Studies chair in the Institute of Armenian Studies. With the support of Hamazkayin, teachers of Armenian subjects are trained there for Armenian educational institutions around the world. The program has been underway since 2013, and a memorandum was signed by the two institutions in 2014. Students who move to Armenia to study in the department receive funding and room and board from Hamazkayin. After two years of study, students are awarded a master’s degree. On this tenth anniversary of the program, we spoke to Dr. Arman Yeghiazaryan, Head of Diaspora Studies at the YSU Institute for Armenian Studies.
