On the initiative of the Artsakh Office of the Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society, the book, The Armenian Army in Artsakh: Formation, Armament, and Battles, by Armen Ayvazyan was launched at the Tumanyan’s Art Café in Yerevan.
The book is a look back at the armed forces in Artsakh between 1722 and 1735; it covers their formation, the general staff, troop numbers, the procurement of weapons, and their participation in several significant battles.
Professor Vahram Balayan, a doctor of historical sciences; Mikael Hajyan, an analyst; historian Mher Harutyunyan; and legal scholar Vladimir Hovsepyan made remarks about Ayvazyan’s polemic.
The presentation proceeded with a discussion of the volume, an exchange of opinions, and a conversation.
Hermine Avagyan, head of the Hamazkayin Artsakh Office, delivered opening remarks and moderated the presentations. She noted that although the book is not a Hamazkayin publication, the office organized the presentation because of its interest in the history of Artsakh
