On April 12, 2015, La Fenice Philharmonic Orchestra gave the second concert of its concert season at Teatro La Fenice. It was really a unique concert due to the artists involved in the program as well as the entire inspiration existing around the event. The musical event had been entrusted to two prestigious musical performers, the Finnish conductor Susanna Mälkki (first female performer on the stage of the La Fenice Philharmonic) and Italian cellist Mario Brunello.
The Center of Research and Documentation of Armenian Culture in Venice organized the concert, in collaboration with the Embassy of Armenia in Italy and Teatro La Fenice Foundation, under the patronage of the Venice Regional Council. The aim of the event was to commemorate the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide designed by Kemal Ataturk and his followers, committed in 1915-1923 by the leaders of the Ottoman Young Turks and categorically rejected by the modern and secular Turkey.
