The Hamazkayin Regional Executive Board for Canada initiated a fundraiser for the Hamazkayin Djemaran, organized on June 27, 2024, by the Montreal Sanahin Chapter’s “Tea, Coffee, Thoughts” Club at the Armenian Centre Aharonian Hall. Most of those in attendance had attended the Djemaran back in Lebanon.
The club chairperson Dirug Manjigian welcomed everyone. The program included three songs performed by the Sourp Hagop Armenian Church Choir under the direction of Talar Harboyan Kaloghlian. The program included poetry recitations by Anahid Torosian Balian.
Djemaran Principal Paola Yeghiayian and Hamazkayin Central Executive Board member Hrayr Kevorkian spoke through a remote connection; Central Executive Board member Lorig Saboundjian Zadourian spoke in person.
A video from the 2024 graduation ceremony was shown and a few former students shared impressions and memories.
Tamar Chahinian, chairperson of the Regional Executive Board, thanked the chapter executive board and the members of the committee and announced that 15,000 Canadian dollars had been raised for the school. The program closed with the Djemaran anthem and a group photo.
