The third annual “Young Armenolog” question-and-answer game-contest took place on November 2, 2024, at the Hamazkaine Arshak and Sophie Gaulstaun College in Sydney.
Students from seven day and Saturday schools in Sydney and Melbourne participated. There were four students from each school, for a total of 28, in teams dubbed Arekag, Lusnyag, Asdghig, and Lusasdgh.
The contest took place in a warm and dynamic atmosphere of cooperation. The theme was Armenian symbols. Guests included spiritual leaders, representatives of community organizations, school administrators, faculty, and parents, as well as students and community members. Samuel Topalyan, visiting from Armenia, was a special guest; he recited poetry during the students’ artistic program. He also expressed his amazement at the contest and the wonderful students.
The contest was a rare opportunity for the Armenians schools of Australia to come together.
We congratulate our young Armenologs and the committee for a wonderous event, greatly enjoyed by participants and audience alike.
