Under the aegis of the Maronite Patriarch of Antioch Cardinal Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, the Hamazkayin Regional Executive Board for Lebanon on April 25, 2023, held an event at the patriarchate in Lebanon to commemorate the 108th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The event included a collective prayer and concert titled, “Rebirth.”
In attendance were Archbishop Gomidas Ohanian of the Armenian Apostolic Church; Bishop Kévork Assadourian of the Armenian Catholic Church; Rev. Nishan Bakalian of the Armenian Evangelical Church; Lebanon’s minister of culture Mohammad Mortada; the staff of the Embassy of Armenia; the ARF Central Committee of Lebanon; the Hamazkayin Central Executive Board; present and former ministers and members of parliament; high national and municipal government officials; representatives of Armenian political parties, athletic, philanthropic, cultural, educational, student, and youth organizations; members of clergy; artists; and a large number of Armenian, Arab, and foreign guests.
The concert featured Shoghig Torossian, soprano, from Lebanon; Sipan Olah, tenor, from England; Maria Palazian, piano, from Engliand; and the Hamazkayin Quartet—Armen Djenderedjian on violin, Alex Donerian on violin, Anna Kiudorf on viola, and Angel Hunanian on cello.
