On January 31, 2024, the Hamazkayin Paris Chapter held an event to celebrate the publication of Corinne Zarzavatdjian’s Rose de Diarbekir: Une passion arménienne.
The emcee was journalist Jean-Christophe Buisson of Figaro Magazine.
The main speaker was historian Claire Mouradian, who described the political atmosphere and events of the 1890s in the Ottoman Empire, when and where the story is set.
Michel Durand-Mayrier, great-grandson of the French consul in Diarbakir at the time of the story, was also present. The consul had saved the lives of 300 Armenians.
More than 80 guests were present. Ms. Zarzavatdjian signed copies of her book.
