Founded on August 9, 2005, through the initiative of the ARF Aharonian Central Committee, the Hamazkayin São Paulo Chapter set out to fill the cultural and artistic void that had been felt in the Brazilian-Armenian community for years. The chapter quickly attracted over 80 members, demonstrating the community’s enthusiasm and the need for such an institution.

Over the years, Hamazkayin has organized numerous memorable events, including theatrical performances, literary nights, and cultural celebrations. This includes the celebration of Hamazkayin’s 90th anniversary with an unforgettable concert featuring prominent Armenian singers Sevak Amroyan and Sona Rubenyan. This event reaffirmed our dedication to Armenian culture and youth.

Since that day, Hamazkayin São Paulo has invested in the artistic education of young people by bringing dance instructors directly from Armenia who were members of the renowned Karin Dance Ensemble and students of the great master Gagik Ginosyan. Currently, we provide free Armenian dance classes for young people aged 9–17, maintaining the Arevik and Kilikia dance ensembles, which represent our cultural heritage at a high level.

These groups perform on the big stages of São Paulo every year, participating in multicultural festivals that celebrate the diverse peoples of this city.

In addition, for five years, Hamazkayin Brazil has proudly maintained the only Armenian television program in South America, which airs every other week on the Rede CONECTV network and on YouTube, where it has a dedicated and growing following. The program has already featured interviews with prominent figures such as Bagrat Srbazan, Arsen Petrosyan, and Levon Aronyan. This content is now also broadcast globally via the ROKU system, as well as on open television in Portugal, expanding the reach of Armenian culture in Portuguese-speaking countries.

Hamazkayin São Paulo continues its mission with dedication and passion, spreading Armenian literature, music, dance, and language, keeping the soul of our people alive in the diaspora.
