To the Regional Committee of Hamazkayin (Western USA),
I want to thank you for the opportunity you gave me this summer. I was part of the Forum group in Armenia thanks to the sponsorhip given to me by Hamakayin Western Region. My trip this summer was spectacular and I wish I was back in Armenia with my Forum friends right now.
Meeting Armenians from across the world was one part of the Forum experience that set my trip apart from every other trip in my life. After the first few days I had already created lifelong friendships with many of the participants. This weekend I will actually be gathering with a few of them for a bar-b-que. Seeing my homeland my parents have talked about all my life was the second aspect of the trip that was unforgettable.
Yerevan itself was a beautiful city that was so vibrant with Armenian culture and modernity. The landscape of Armenia can not even be put into words. From Arakadz to Garni; everything was breath taking. And sometimes I forget how much history Armenian has. You do not realize the history until you see the churches that were still standing after thousands of years. After the trip I was craving to study to learn more about Armenian history.
I just want to thank you again for the opportunity you gave. In due time I will make sure to provide Armenian youth with the opportunity that was given to me.
