The 30th Convention of the Hamazkayin Lebanon Region took place on March 30, 2026, at the Hrair Maroukhian Hall of the Aghpalian-Homenetmen Center. The focus of the convention was the upcoming Hamazkayin General Assembly.
Voting and nonvoting delegates included the representatives of the Hamazkayin Central Executive Board, member of the Regional Executive Board for Lebanon, representatives of the specialized and geographic branches, the directors of the artistic programs and committees, trustees of the Schools of Art, and guests.
The convention first heard a summary quadrennial report of the Central Executive Board and took the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the performance of the board. The convention then debated and adopted resolutions for the next four years to take to the General Assembly. Delegates discussed joint activities in Middle Eastern communities, creating tour circuits for performing groups, and opportunities for learning from each other.
The delegates affirmed the importance of Hamazkayin’s educational institutions and a need to create a school in Armenia. They also discussed outreach programs to draw in an ever-increasing number of young people.
The convention considered the instability of countries in which Armenians live, especially in the Middle East, and the consequent difficulties in cultural programming. There was hope that the crises would pass and regular programming would resume.
The convention elected five delegates from the region for the Hamazkayin General Assembly.
