An exhibition of works by renowned Lebanese-Armenian painter Krikor Norikian opened at the Byblos Bank Headquarters, in Ashrafieh, on November 19, 2012. Titled “Avec le Temps” (“With Time”), the exhibition was organized by Byblos Bank and the Hamazkayin Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery, and remained open at Byblos Bank for the next two days.
A seasoned and distinguished artist, Norikian seeks to express his personal emotions and experiences through beautiful and harmonious color combinations and facial expressions. Norikian’s artwork is marked by the Armenian people’s will and determination to survive.
Nada Tawil, Head of the Group Communication Department at Byblos Bank, said: “We are proud to host the ‘Avec le Temps’ exhibition and thus pay tribute to Norikian’s talent and valuable artwork. Indeed, we strongly believe that art can foster openness and intimacy, and reflect our collective spiritual energy. ”
“Norikian has greatly contributed to Lebanese art,” said Hagop Havatian, Director of the Hamazkayin Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery. “Through his meticulous, conscientious and confident approach to painting, Norikian has gained the admiration of art lovers. His paintings convey universal messages, thus bringing us closer to both abstract and realist terrains,” he added.
Norikian thanked both Byblos Bank and the Hamazkayin Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery for their
support. He also explained: “Each of my paintings reveals my inner self, emotions, and experiences; in other words, it depicts my entire life.”
During the two-day exhibition at the Byblos Bank Headquarters, art lovers had the opportunity to enjoy a selection of 25 oil paintings reflecting Norikian’s creative spirit, vision, and refined feel for the arts.
The exhibition will also be hosted at the Hamazkayin Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery from November 23 till December 10, 2012, every day (except Sundays) from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
