Following the unprecedented success of their show, “Cursed Pomegranate II,” the Hamazkayin Dance Group continued its activities with rehearsals and new performances. This summer, for the first time, they traveled abroad, performing at high-level and significant festivals and events. They proudly represented the values of Armenian culture and made the Armenian tricolor wave high.
On June 20, 2025, the “Nayiri” Dance Group arrived in the city of Saranda, one of the most important centers for the Greek community in Albania. They participated in a festival alongside 40 other dance groups from various Greek communities, Cyprus, the Pontic region, and other parts of Greece.
The coastal city gets its name from a Byzantine monastery dedicated to the “Forty Martyrs of Sebastia” in Lesser Armenia, which was built on a hill in the area.
On the same day, a seminar-symposium was held within the festival, with the participation of dance instructors. The topic was “Cypriot, Armenian, Pontic, and Epirus Dances: Cultural Heritage, Memory, and Identity.”
